Biography:
Rep. Mike Rogers (AL-03)
Mike Rogers, 49, was elected to the United States House of Representatives in November 2002 and represents the Third Congressional District of Alabama.
Mike, the son of a textile worker and fireman, is a fifth generation resident of East Alabama and graduated from Saks High School and Jacksonville State University where he earned an undergraduate degree in Political Science and a Masters of Public Administration.
When Mike was 28 years old, he was elected as the first Republican and youngest member of the Calhoun County Commission. During his time on the commisssion, he also worked for The United Way in Calhoun County, and enrolled in Birmingham School of Law with his wife, Beth. After graduating with honors, he began a general law practice in Anniston and later began his own firm with two partners, which later became on eof Calhoun County's largest firms.
 Mike is the father of Emily (13), Evan (12) and Elliot (9) and has been married to Beth for 25 years. he and his family live in the Saks area and attend the same church, Saks Baptist, that his grandfather attended. Mike feels very blessed by his wonderful family.
Mike was elected to the Alabama House of Representatives in 1994. He was elected to become House Minority Leader in 1998.
Mike serves as Ranking Member on the Homeland Security Oversight subcommittee and serves on teh House Armed Services Committee and the House Agriculture Committee. His priorities for the Third District include strengthening the state's vital military facilities, helping the state economy grow and thrive, and advocating for Alabama's agricultural interests.
